City University Malaysia’s Chinese New Year (CNY) Cultural Celebration at Cyberjaya Campus was a spectacular success, bringing together students from over 60 countries in a vibrant showcase of culture, creativity, and unity. The event was filled with exciting performances, stunning fashion displays, and a variety of cultural experiences that truly reflected the diversity of our CityU community.
One of the most anticipated highlights was the Lion Dance & Acrobatic Performance, which captivated the audience with its energetic movements and breathtaking stunts. The performance symbolised prosperity and good fortune, setting a lively and festive atmosphere for the day.
The celebration also featured an impressive Fashion Show by the Faculty of Creative Industry (FOCI), where students showcased their artistic talents through unique and innovative designs. Following this, La Vogue’s Fashion Show featuring CityU Merchandise brought a modern touch to the event, blending university pride with contemporary style.
Adding to the festive spirit, the Cultural Food Bazaar was a hit among students and staff, offering a variety of cuisines that reflected the multicultural backgrounds of our university. It was a great opportunity for everyone to experience and appreciate different flavours while enjoying the lively atmosphere.
This year’s CNY celebration was more than just an event—it was a testament to CityU’s commitment to cultural diversity and inclusivity. Seeing students from different backgrounds come together to celebrate and embrace traditions made the event truly special.
