Following this, an EAC representative delivered an address on the purpose of the visit. The main objective was to enhance the visibility of EAC functions regarding the accreditation and registration of Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) offering Engineering programmes, to promote the critical role of engineers in national development, including their education and training and to conduct outreach activities with engineering programme providers. The EAC emphasised the importance of collaboration between higher learning institutions and the council to produce industry-ready graduates who are innovative and capable of contributing to the ever-evolving engineering field.

A meeting was held between the EAC members and City University Malaysia’s deans, heads of departments, and program leaders to discuss the institution’s current accreditation status. Topics such as ongoing program improvements, faculty development, industry collaboration, TVET and the adaptation to new Engineering Standards 2024 to the curriculum development were key points of discussion. The meeting also served as a platform for the university to seek feedback from the EAC on how it can further improve its engineering offerings.
