City University Malaysia prepares school students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. On 16 & 17 April we held an Open Day in our main campus to give students a clear path for educational success.
We strongly believe that in shaping its curriculum around how we want students to learn – with a wide range of subjects and flexible ways to offer them. It helps students discover new abilities and a wider world and give them the transferable skills they need for life, so they can achieve at school, university, and work.
Two years into the pandemic, we must be well equipped with associated skills to improve our performance and achievement. Therefore, we created interactive booths for all 8 faculties, namely Allied Health Sciences, Business Management, Creative Industries, Engineering, Information Technology, Education & Liberal Studies, Architecture & Built Environment and Hospitality & Tourism.
To survive and thrive, acquiring the right skills is more vital. Right skills are technology literacy, analytic literacy and human centred literacy that should be in line to create greater opportunity in the future.
More interestingly, as we all know that computers have become an integral tool in modern society, today's learning method is also dependent on technology. Therefore, City University Malaysia students were given laptop to ease their journey in their studies. Our Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr. Mustaffa Halabi bin Azahari together with our Registrar, Dr Rosnizah Shaari handed over laptops to all successfully enrolled students as we focused on helping those from B40 category. We believe that our students will be better prepared as they pursue their academic and career goals.
Combination of good skills, technological acceptance and digital transformation will allow us to create our own opportunity to face with the challenges and make us market ready for the industry. Believe in you, believe in city-u!
