2020 is definitely a challenging and unexpected year. Although there are various meaningful moments all over the world, CITYU also has its own moment to be remembered. Here are the top 5 moments of 2020 in City University.
The 2019/20 Student Representative Council was elected in November 2019 with a grand election day. Candidates were nominated by their faculties from amongst the best. The students from each faculty were obliged to vote for their candidate of choice. It was one of the greatest moments in City University because it gives birth to a strong democratic leadership in the campus. The appointment inspired many to become a strong and honest leader.
City University’s Co-Curricular Day 2020
At the beginning of the year, the Student Representative Council and the rest of the clubs in the campus gather to host the greatest co-curricular day ever. Music and dances decorate the campus environment. Students from different faculties come together and have fun while registering for clubs that fit their interests. There were no boundaries between local and international students. All stayed united and cherished the moment.
Being part of great achievement in the realm of higher institutions is a great pride. Ms. Nur Ain Afieqah is one of City University’s graduates that was given the opportunity to be a Felo Perdana under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). Thus, making her under the supervision of YB Khairy Jamaluddin the minister of MOSTI. This achievement gives hopes and dreams to other students to accomplish unimaginable goals.
VATEL Kuala Lumpur Meet & Greet 2020
There are many hospitality courses available in Malaysia but nothing can compete with VATEL at City University of Malaysia. It is the first worldwide Business School Group in Hospitality and Tourism Management and has many partnerships with international hotel brands worldwide. This year, in November, the students gathered together and hosted a Virtual Meet & Greet with many well-known hotels such as St. Regis. This brings pride to the university as it amplifies the hopes of students to have a better future.
MOU Signing between City University Malaysia & Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
VATEL is an international pride that our university owns, but locally, we too have strong ties with other institutions. One great example this year is between City University and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The MOU signing was done by the Faculty of Engineering from both universities. This allows our students to be close ties with other institutions with great credibility such as UKM. In addition, it provides great opportunities for all in the near future. Hence, this is one of the greatest moments to be remembered.
On the whole, all of us from City University Malaysia would like to wish you a happy new year and may 2021 be a better chapter in our life.
