On November 7, 2024, Rumah Hope transformed into a lively and joyful venue as the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism (FOHAT) and the Faculty of Business Management (FOBM) conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program titled “Spreading Hope: A Community of Kindness.

This heartwarming initiative brought together students, faculty members, and community members from all walks of life to share a message of compassion, support, and unity. Designed to foster community connections, the program encouraged empathy and brightened the lives of Rumah Hope residents through simple, fun-filled activities.

The event featured various engaging activities that captivated and connected everyone present. A series of indoor games, each carefully chosen, encouraged interaction and a spirit of friendly competition. Participants joined in on a traditional game of Congkak, a Malaysian classic that sparked friendly rivalry and laughter.

There was also a dart game, allowing attendees to test their aim and hand-eye coordination in a safe, controlled environment. Balloon games added an element of pure joy, perfect for all ages and sure to bring out everyone’s playful side.

Adding to the fun, a cupcake decorating station provided a creative outlet for participants. This activity allowed everyone to let their imagination run wild with frosting, sprinkles, and other edible decorations, transforming simple cupcakes into personal works of art. Cupcake decorating became a wonderful way for attendees to bond over shared creativity, working side-by-side to make delightful, colourful treats.

Participants also enjoyed the fruits of their labour, making this a tasty and memorable experience.

The “Spreading Hope: A Community of Kindness” CSR program was more than just an event—it was a meaningful opportunity for the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism and the Faculty of Business Management to give back, create positive memories, and emphasise the importance of community unity.

Rumah Hope was filled with smiles, laughter, and an abundance of hope, as the program united people through kindness, fun, and friendship. Through these small yet impactful activities, participants and residents alike walked away with lasting memories, having truly experienced the beauty of kindness in action.

This successful day they have marked a powerful example of CSR in action, with kindness blossoming, joy spreading, and community bonds growing stronger.
